What is the signifcance of this particular strat? Hendrix obviously didn't prefer the look of these tortoise shell pickguards as this is the only that can be accounted for.
It seems to be a pre-CBS stratocaster. NOTE small headstock, spaghetti logo? Typical rosewood fretboard, my best guess is it's a '63 or '64. Would love to know it's serial number so I can find out it's year of manufacture.
I think the large photo is from a backstage venue and I know that the other three small ones are from the Blackpool Opera House on the 25th of November 1967. (Wild Thing) The Guitar was thrown and smashed at the end of the song calling the end of the set.
The large photo is most probably anytime before the show as I personally don't think the guitar would be fit to play after it was thrown. (Although he's not actually playing it, just fiddling with something)
