Document prisé des collectionneurs il n'y a pas si longtemps encore, le film de la performance de Corn Exchange figure désormais sur le DVD "Live At Monterey" en tant que bonus. Si le film noir et blanc est de très bonne qualité, la bande audio est un peu moins bonne, tout en ayant un rendu très musical. La guitare et le chant (qui sature un peu) sont bien en avant, permettant vraiment d'apprécier la musique. Seuls deux titres ont été enregistrés, le premier étant sévèrement coupé.

Cet extrait de concert serait issu d'une émission hollandaise d'époque appelée "Telixer".

Il est regrettable que "Like A Rolling Stone" connaisse de nombreux cuts. Ce qu'on entend de la version est brillant, parfaitement exécuté - à l'image de l'Experience des débuts lorsque la sauce prend bien.

"Stone Free" est plus intéressant encore, le titre étant complet. C'est une version très réussie, où l'on peut noter le fait que Noel Redding était très présent vocalement au début du groupe. Le solo est bien sauvage, même s'il est peut-être un peu décousu.

I cannot say what Hendrix's play list was, but I do remember 'Purple Haze' to much audience appreciation.

Hendrix gave two sets. That was the normal arrangement for the Corn'ole.

I believe he did a short rendition of the 'Star Spangled Banner', well before it offended middle America in the later 1960s, but there was so much improvisation I may be confusing it with one of his many improvised riffs.

HUGH BULLEN BASS GUIAIRIST WITH THE SOUL TRINITY RECALLS THE EVENING THEY SUPPORTED JIMI HENDRIX IN CHELMSFORD

My memories of the 25th Feb 1967 was that of total amazement I was the bass player for the Soul trinity and my brother Kelvin Bullen was the guitarist,

I remember shearing the dressing room with Hendrix, and the experience, I spoke to Jimmy I don't remember what i spoke about but I'm sure it was about his music as you can imaging, it was like being on another planet, I am the young black boy standing next to Hendrix Marshall Stack I can still remember the awesome power that came from his amplifier.I is definitely one of the most fantastic moments in my life.

JIMI HENDIX CHELMSFORD CORN EXCHANGE Just fantastic what a buzz I was there 17 years old with my brother Hugh Bullen .as guitarist of the Soul Trinity the Reading based band,that was 43 years ago .What has stayed with me was backstage with Gentleman Jimi Hendrix coming to me and telling me he enjoyed my playing.what kindness humility encouragment and love.That evening Jimi won a special place in my heart forever.
